Before cross border mediation an employee of the Mediation Bureau will have a interview with both parents. During this interview the employee of the Mediation Bureau will explain the mediation procedure and map any issues that each parent wishes to discuss. Parents can ask questions without immediately committing to mediation.
If both parents wish to continue the mediation procedure, the Mediation Bureau will appoint two mediators. One of the mediators will consult with both parents and determine whether the case is suitable for mediation. Subsequently, the Mediation Bureau will send the parents a mediationagreement in which they commit to the cross border mediation procedure. After that, the mediation procedure will start as soon as possible.
The employee of the Mediation Bureauwill arrange the location of the mediation and maintain contacts with the parents and their representatives as to the location and the time schedule of the mediation sessions. During the mediation the employee of the Mediation Bureau will be at the service of the entire mediation procedure. The Mediation Bureau will also be responsible for completion of the cross-border mediation procedure. The documents will be archived by the Mediation Bureau in accordance with a privacy protocol.
