Mediators

Every cross border mediation session will take place in the presence of two independent mediators. A mediator is not a representative of one of the parents, but is impartial and independent of both parents. The mediators are selected from a permanent pool of cross-border mediators with experience in the field of international child abduction and international parental contact arrangement. They have knowledge of the applications of the 1980 Hague Child Abduction Convention and the European Brussels II bis Regulation.

The mediators may be:
a. a lawyer mediator specialized in family law with knowledge of international child abduction and international parental contact cases,  the 1980 Hague Child Abduction Convention, and the European Brussels II bis Regulation;
b. a family mediator specialized in cross border child matters.
