The Mediation Bureau has made in consultation with the Council for Judiciary and the Ministry of Security and Justice special arrangements for parents who participate in crossborder mediations. The Ministryof Security and Justice reimburses more than a third of the total costs of a cross border mediation and the Legal Aid Board provides additions to the parents who qualify for legal aid.
The costs for cross-border mediation does not exceed the amount of €1330,- per person (inclusive BTW (Dutch VAT), location fees and travel expenses of the mediators) with a maximum of 9 hours mediation, 3 hours of preparation and rounding including composing the two-party agreement.
Parents, who qualify legal aid, need to make an income-related contribution of €51,- per person or €102,- per person. To know if you are being covered by Dutch legal aid, please ask the Mediation Bureau for more information.
