Some countries have a long standing tradition of mediation. Other countries put more faith in a court decision. It is important to point out the possibility of cross border family mediation and to inform parents with about this option. With this objective the Foundation IPCAS has been founded. IPCAS stands for 'International Parental Child Abduction Support'.
The goal of IPCAS is to draw attention to the consequences of an international parental child abduction for the children. IPCAS is also aiming to promote cross border mediation and stimulate research on the effects of an international child abduction. Preventive measures are of great importance in the process of international relocation. An example of a preventive measure is making a parenting plan.
By working together with social organisations around the world IPCAS wants to inform parents about different possibilities which can be used to come to a successful international relocation. This is important, not only for the parents, but for the children as well.
